Summer Boatbuilding

The Boat:
Banks Dory - A traditional fishing dory developed to be stable with
heavy loads, inexpensive and quickly built. The Banks Dory is a
perfect design to learn with, combining elements of much larger
boats in a small quickly built, easily handled boat.

Boatbuilding at Redd’s Pond Boatworks:

• The class will cover skills such as pattern making, riveting, boat
  joinery, steam bending, oar making, and painting.
• Minimum age is 12 without a parent or guardian also attending the
  class.
• A small set of tools is required for each student, but Redd’s Pond
  Boatworks has many loaner tools available.
• $750 per 5 week session. Flexible scheduling upon request.
